Book Sales... (scroll down for October 2009, Book Sale dates) The "friends" conduct two major book sale fundraisers during the year to support various needs of both the Main Branch and the South Norwalk Branch of the Norwalk Public Library System. Members and other volunteers are needed to work, throughout the year, on Book Sale activities. Tasks include sorting, boxing and moving books and other donated items. Other duties include setting up the semi-annual Book Sale and working at the sales. If interested, please call Jeff Conrad - 203-354-2933.
AND: Be sure to visit the "BOOK SALE RACK" near the Circulation Desk in the Main Library -- Most books are just $2.00 ALTHOUGH SALEABLE BOOK DONATIONS ARE WELCOME: 1 - Donated books, audio and video items must be in GOOD CONDITION. "If it's not good enough for your bookshelf, it won't sell, nor is it worthy for us to add it to our library collection." 2 - We can use "abridged" audio books but CANNOT use or sell abridged books of any kind. 3 - Textbooks can be NO MORE THAN 5 YEARS OLD, no matter what the condition. they do not sell and cannot be used in the collection. (Check the latest publication date on the back of the title page.) 4 - Magazines and newspapers have no value to us (unless they have historical value. One exception might be a Special Issue of a magazine (such as Martha Stewart's Christmas Ideas). 5 - We cannot sell used computers, unless they are COMPLETE WITH PERIPHERALS, SOFTWARE and are in WORKING CONDITION.
